Grendel Press is thrilled to welcome JG Faherty, author of 19 books, 3 collections, and over 85 short stories. He has also been a finalist for the ITW Thriller Award and twice for the Bram Stoker Award. In 2025, Faherty’s THE GHOUL enters our collection as a supernatural thriller novella.

JG writes both adult and YA horror, science fiction, dark fantasy, and paranormal romance. They range from quiet, dark suspense to over-the-top comic gruesomeness. He is also a proud relative of Mary Shelley.

He has been a lifelong resident of New York’s haunted Hudson Valley, where you can also find him enjoying bad movies, bourbon, wine, and building guitars. You can also find JG Faherty on X, Facebook, and Instagram as @jgfaherty.

The novella, THE GHOUL focuses on Detective Alex Bay and the creature he becomes, his intense love for his fiance, and his dedication to bringing criminals to justice. As he tries to bring down the cannibal and serial killer that is stalking Manhattan, it seems that sometimes it takes a monster to catch a monster.
We invite our audience to take a bite of Faherty’s gruesome story of Alex Bay and THE GHOUL, where revenge does not stop for death.
